Step into a slower, more meaningful way of life in the highlands surrounding Mount Elgon, where food is not just prepared—it’s shared, remembered, and celebrated. Our Local Food Experience invites you to go beyond tasting and into participation. This half- day immersion takes you back to traditional kitchens, where recipes have been passed down through generations and every ingredient tells a story. Guided by welcoming local hosts, you’ll begin in the garden—harvesting fresh vegetables, herbs, and seasonal produce straight from the soil. From there, you’ll move into an open, rustic cooking space where the real magic begins. Learn time-honored techniques, prepare authentic dishes using local methods, and discover flavors that rarely make it onto restaurant menus. Expect hands-on involvement—cutting, grinding, stirring, and cooking side by side with your hosts. The experience culminates in what matters most: sitting down together to share the meal you’ve helped create. No rush, no formality—just genuine connection, conversation, and the satisfaction of a meal made from scratch.

Local Brew Experience – Discover the Art of Traditional Brewing

Hidden within the highland communities around Mount Elgon lies a time-honored craft that brings people together—traditional brewing. This Local Brew Experience offers you a rare glimpse into how local beer is made using age-old techniques, natural ingredients, and knowledge passed down through generations. Designed as a half-day immersive activity, this experience introduces you to the fascinating process behind local brew—from preparation to fermentation—guided by skilled community brewers who have mastered the craft over time. You won’t just observe—you’ll engage. Learn how grains are selected and handled, understand the role of fermentation, and witness how simple, locally sourced ingredients are transformed into a culturally significant drink. Along the way, you’ll hear the stories, traditions, and social importance tied to brewing in this region. Coffee Tour & Experience – From Bean to Cup in Sipi

Grown on the rich volcanic slopes of Mount Elgon, Sipi’s Arabica coffee is shaped by altitude, climate, and generations of local expertise. This Coffee Tour & Experience takes you beyond the cup and into the full story—where every stage of production unfolds right before you. Offered as a half-day immersive experience (with an option to extend), this journey begins in the coffee gardens near Sipi Falls. Here, you’ll walk alongside local farmers as they introduce you to the lifecycle of the coffee plant—from ripening cherries to post-harvest handling. What sets this experience apart is its hands-on nature. You’ll take part in traditional processing methods: drying, pounding, roasting over open fire, and grinding by hand.
